Carolyn Servid

About

Carolyn Servid is the author of the essay collection Of Landscape and Longing, a personal reflection on land, home, and community set in Sitka, Alaska, where she lives. She and her husband, Dorik Mechau, are co-directors of the Island Institute, an organization dedicated to fostering creative, collaborative thinking about vital communities—the web of human relationships and our connections to the greater natural world. She edited the award-winning anthology From the Island’s Edge: A Sitka Reader and coedited The Book of the Tongass and Arctic Refuge: A Circle of Testimony.
