Elizabeth Cox has completed three novels: Familiar Ground, The Ragged Way People Fall Out of Love, and Night Talk. She has also published a collection of short stories, Bargains in the Real World. One of these stories, “The Third of July,” was chosen for the 1994 O. Henry Collection. Her next novel, The Slow Moon, is due out from Random House in fall 2006. She has taught creative writing at Duke University, MIT, Boston University, and Bennington College. She now shares the John Cobb Chair of Humanities with her husband at Wofford College in South Carolina.
