Gretchen Legler

Gretchen Legler is an associate professor in the Program in Creative Writing at the University of Maine at Farmington, specializing in nonfiction. Pieces from her first collection, All the Powerful Invisible Things: A Sportswoman’s Notebook (1995), won two Pushcart Prizes and have been widely excerpted and anthologized. Her scholarly work on nature writing has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. Her second book of nonfiction, On the Ice: An Intimate Look at Life in McMurdo Station and Antarctica, was recently published by Milkweed Editions.
