Jan DeBlieu is the author of four books and dozens of articles and essays about people and nature. Her first book, Hatteras Journal (1987), is considered a regional classic. Meant to Be Wild (1991) was followed by Wind (1998), which was awarded the John Burroughs Medal. In Year of the Comets (2005) she studies the unknown reaches of the universe and the inner cosmos of the human mind. Jan DeBlieu’s writings explore the subtle ways we are shaped by the landscapes where we live and work.
