Jeffery Renard Allen

About

An associate professor of English at Queens College of the City University of New York and an instructor in the MFA writing program at New School University, Jeffery Renard Allen is the author of Harbors and Spirits, a collection of poems. A second book of poems, Stellar Places, will be out in October 2006. His novel Rails Under My Back won the Chicago Tribune’s Heartland Prize for Fiction. Other prizes include a Whiting Writers Award and a John Farrar Fellowship in Fiction at Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. At present, he is at work on another novel.
