William Kittredge

William Kittredge is the author of many books, as well as editor of The Last Best Place and The Portable Western Reader, anthologies of western literature. He was an associate producer of the film A River Runs Through It, and his magazine writing has appeared in Harper’s, Outside, the Atlantic, and the Paris Review. In 1994 he won the Charles Frankel Prize, awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities to citizens who through their scholarship, writing, and leadership have enriched the nation.
